Bentley’s legendary W-12 engine is officially on its way to the big junkyard in the sky (RIP). But don’t worry; it’s being replaced by an even more powerful hybrid V-8. This new powerhouse first appeared in the 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed and now takes its place under the hood of the 2025 Flying Spur.
The 2025 Bentley Flying Spur is Bentley’s most powerful sedan ever. The new twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 hybrid delivers a stunning 771 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, outpacing the W-12 in every way. With 19% more horsepower and an 11% torque boost over its predecessor, the Flying Spur rockets from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds a full half-second quicker than the previous model.

Nestled beside Bentley’s new V-8 is a 25.9-kWh battery pack, producing 187 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque on its own. This gives the Flying Spur a 47-mile electric range (EU cycle) and an EV top speed of up to 87 mph. Paired with the V-8, the total driving range is an impressive 515 miles, making it ideal for cross-country journeys.
To maximize its hybrid potential, the Flying Spur offers four battery-specific modes: Pure EV, Electric Boost, Regenerative Braking, and Charge. Charge mode lets the V-8 power the wheels while recharging the battery, but there’s also the option to plug into a Level 2 charger. Recharging at 11 kW takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Standard on the Flying Spur is Bentley’s new Active Chassis system, featuring adaptive suspension, all-wheel steering, an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, and retuned ESC software. The sedan achieves a weight distribution of 48.3% front and 51.7% rear.
You’ll need a keen eye to spot the differences between the latest Flying Spur and the previous model. Bentley’s iconic round headlights remain, but this version sports a unique Speed-specific grille and an updated front bumper with dynamic vent accents at each corner.

For those wanting to add a touch more edge, the 2025 Bentley Flying Spur offers an optional Styling Specification aero package that enhances its exterior, available in carbon fiber or, for the first time, body-colored paint. And with 101 paint options including iconic shades from Bentley’s history buyers have no shortage of customization choices.
Inside, the Flying Spur gets a tech overhaul with Bentley latest electrical architecture. There’s a new digital instrument cluster and a center touchscreen (size still under wraps) that supports wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and over-the-air updates for features like navigation. The new My Bentley App Studio lets owners download third-party apps for music, navigation, gaming, and more.

Audio lovers have options, too: a standard 10-speaker, 650-watt system; an upgraded 16-speaker, 1,500-watt Bang & Olufsen setup; or a top-tier 19-speaker, 2,200-watt system with Active Bass Transducers built into the front seats. Laminated glass for the windshield and side windows keeps the cabin ultra-quiet nine decibels quieter than the outgoing model.
While the 2024 Bentley Flying Spur starts around $217,000, Bentley hasn’t revealed 2025 pricing yet, though it’ll likely be higher. The 2025 Bentley Flying Spur is expected to hit dealerships by year’s end.
