The Lamborghini Huracán is officially history, and with it, we say goodbye to that glorious naturally aspirated V-10 engine. But Lambo fans, fear not there’s a new beast in town from Sant'Agata Bolognese, and it’s set to blow minds: introducing the Lamborghini Temerario.

Lamborghini calls the Temerario an HPEV High-Performance Electrified Vehicle and it brings serious power. With a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 plug-in hybrid setup and three electric motors, this thing cranks out a whopping 920 horsepower. It rockets from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.7 seconds, and the top speed? A blistering 211 mph.

The V-8 engine in the Temerario is brand new and built from scratch. It’s got a 90-degree "Hot V" layout, a flat-plane crankshaft, and two turbos pumping out 36 psi of boost. Lamborghini kept the weight down with cast aluminum alloy cylinder heads and titanium connecting rods. Plus, Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coated finger followers in the valvetrain allow the engine to spin up to a dizzying 10,000 rpm.

Backing up the V-8 are three oil-cooled, axial-flux electric motors. One of these motors sits between the engine and the eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, producing up to 150 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque by itself. The other two motors, located up front, each make 82 hp and power the front wheels, giving the Temerario all-wheel drive. But for those wanting a little more fun, there’s a "Drift Mode" that sends torque to the rear wheels with three levels of power. Launch control is standard, too.

The battery? It’s a 3.8 kWh pack that can be recharged in 30 minutes using a standard AC plug or juiced up in 6 minutes by the V-8 itself. Regenerative braking also helps recharge the battery. And yes, you can drive it on electric power alone via the front motors, though Lamborghini hasn’t revealed the electric range yet.

On the outside, the Temerario is a blend of the bigger Revuelto and the outgoing Huracán. The headlights are slimmer than the Huracán’s, sitting like sharp slivers in the corners of the hood, while cool hexagonal LED running lights add flair to the front bumper. The Temerario rides on staggered 20- and 21-inch wheels, available in forged or carbon-fiber options.

In profile, the Temerario isn’t as sleek as the Huracán, but it introduces a big aerodynamic vent in front of the rear wheels that increases downforce by 103% compared to the Huracán Evo.

For those who want even more aggression, the Temerario Alleggerita package adds a bigger rear wing, unique bumpers, and carbon-fiber rims, boosting downforce by 158% over the Huracán Evo while shedding 55 pounds. Throw in the Carbon Pack, and you’ll drop another 4 pounds, thanks to carbon bits on the rear diffuser, mirror caps, and air intakes.

Underneath it all is a brand-new lightweight chassis. Unlike the Huracán’s mix of aluminum and carbon fiber, the Temerario’s chassis is all-aluminum. This reduces material usage by 50%, cuts heat-welded joints by 80%, and increases torsional rigidity by 20%. All while keeping the weight in check.

Inside, the Temerario’s cockpit is full of hexagonal design elements. There’s more room, too, with 1.3 inches of extra headroom and up to 1.8 inches more legroom compared to the Huracán. Lamborghini even claims that a 6-foot 6-inch NBA player could fit comfortably with a helmet on. The cabin also boasts an 8.4-inch vertical touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver, and a 9.1-inch display for the passenger.

What’s the price tag? That’s still a mystery. But with the Huracán Evo starting around $300,000, don’t be surprised if the Temerario pushes into the $400,000 or even $500,000 range. We’ll find out more when the Lamborghini Temerario hits the market later this year or in early 2025.
