The 2024 Nissan Altima will be a carryover model as the lineup received a mid-cycle refresh for 2023. Last year's update included a new nose, more standard safety features and upgrades to the infotainment system. The Nissan Altima is now available in 2019.
We expect the 2024 Nissan Altima to continue its role as Nissan's midsize family sedan, offering contemporary style and emphasizing value. Buyers get access to a good five-door trunk space combined with performance and an affordable price. Standard fare now includes remote start, a 7-inch touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control and LED headlights. Nissan can offer the Altima in the same four trim levels as last year: S, SV, SR and SL. The SV upgrade will include an expanded infotainment system and power driver's seat.

The Sport SR is more aggressive, with sport-tuned suspension and an available turbocharged engine. The SL offers the highest level of standard equipment, including leather seats, a sunroof, keys and a 12.3-inch touchscreen. We expect the standard engine for all Altima models to be the current 2.5-liter four-cylinder that sends 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels through a variable transmission ( CVT).
This configuration provides 27 miles per gallon city, 37 mpg highway and 31 combined. All-wheel drive will continue as an option with the standard engine. Available traditionally on the SR only, the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder has 248 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque for improved performance. Performance drops slightly with the turbo at 29 mpg combined.

It is almost certain that Nissan will offer full driver assistance technology in the 2024 Altima. Each model can come with automatic emergency braking, driver monitoring, automatic high beams, parking sensors, lane departure warning and traffic monitoring.
We expect adaptive cruise control and lane-departure assistance to be available on the SV and SR models, as well as standard on the SL. We expect the 2024 Nissan Altima to hit dealerships this fall. Prices will start around $26,500 and climb to over $33,000 for the SL. Nissan competes for buyers with other mid-size sedans such as Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata and Chevrolet Malibu.
