The rest of the camouflage is being removed and the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe has arrived. Still slightly larger than its predecessor, the evolutionary model changes to the exterior and hides a new interior that includes a large central touchscreen that captures photos and all kinds of standard equipment.
Many new features for the GLC Coupe were covered last year in the standard debut of the GLC-Class. As a refresher, the exterior features include an updated lower fascia with slimmer headlights and slimmer tail lights with a revised rear fascia. Inside, the cockpit gets a head-up display with a 12.3-inch driver display mounted in a floating landscape design, and an 11.9-inch touchscreen in the middle.
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC coupe is powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder used in the standard GLC, incorporating a 48-volt mild-hybrid system to produce 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. There are a few differences you will notice. Initially, the only 2024 Mercedes GLC Coupe offered was the 300 4Matic with the AMG Line package as standard. That means all coupes get the striking AMG star grille and roll on 19-inch wheels (20-inch is optional).

The revised shape lowers the drag coefficient to 0.27, and the interior comes with standard AMG Line features like a leather-wrapped dashboard with plenty of wood trim for the trim. A panoramic sunroof is also standard, and in the technology department, the AMG Line package includes heated seats all around, Burmeister 3D surround sound, wireless phone charging and the latest MBUX system.
Space-wise, it's clear that things are very different at the back of the B-pillar. There is 19.2 cubic meters of space behind the rear seats, slightly less than the standard GLC but slightly more than last year's GLC Coupe. Flip the second row up and you'll find 52.6 cubic feet of total space — also an improvement over the outgoing model. As we compare new and old, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe is 1.2 inches longer and less than 4 inches longer than its predecessor. In width, the new coupe is just under an inch wider in the rear and five (yes, five) inches wider in the front. We told you it was always underweight.

Advanced driver assistance systems are found in abundance in the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. Along with the usual sensors and warning system, Mercedes includes a 360-degree camera for close-up maneuvers. The "transparent hood" is part of the camera function, clearly showing the ground directly in front of the car. Combined with remote control that includes hill descent control, it allows drivers to carefully maneuver the SUV on rough terrain.
Mercedes isn't ready to discuss pricing for the 2024 GLC Coupe, and we don't know exactly when it will hit dealerships beyond "later in 2023." We've already seen full AMG models tested in public, so expect a lighter version perhaps this year or, failing that, in the first half of 2024.
